We are currently recruiting for a Senior Payroll Officer in the Tameside area

  • Monday – Friday
  • Office based role
  • 37.5 hours a week

Duties include:

  • Completing the end-to-end payroll process
  • Processing accurate wages and salaries
  • Calculating NI, tax and statutory pay including maternity, paternity and sickness pay
  • Supporting the payroll administrators within the team, assisting with any training
  • Organising and prioritising the teams’ tasks for the day
  • Communicating with external clients including pension providers and HMRC
  • Answering payroll relating queries via email and telephone
  • Completing weekly and monthly pension contributions and completing auto- enrolment processes before deadlines
  • Understanding current legislations including NMW, student loan and statutory payments

The successful candidate:

  • Desirably has a CIPP Diploma in payroll
  • Worked on several payroll software’s previously
  • Has a minimum of two- three years’ payroll experience
  • Has strong time management, prioritising and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Has experience working in a fast-paced environment and working towards deadlines
