I am currently recruiting for a Deputy Service Manager in the Tameside location!Annual Salary: £39,039.00 - £40,540.50Location: TamesideJob Type: Full-timeI am seeking a Deputy Service Manager to join our team in Tameside.This role is ideal for a candidate with significant management experience who is dedicated to fostering a nurturing and safe environment for young people.As a Deputy Service Manager, you will lead a team to ensure the highest standards of support and accommodation, helping young people to develop resilience, life skills, and successfully transition to adulthood.Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee the smooth operation of the homes, ensuring a safe and caring environment for all young people
  • Lead and inspire the support team, conducting supervisions, probations, and appraisals, and providing necessary training and support.
  • Develop and implement tailored support and safety plans, ensuring the well-being of each young person.
  • Conduct regular assessments and reviews, collaborating with professionals, families, and external agencies to create person-centred support plans.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment, promoting empowerment and a sense of belonging among young people.
  • Lead team meetings and multidisciplinary discussions to ensure effective communication and collaboration with external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements and organisational policies.
  • Manage crisis situations effectively, ensuring appropriate safeguarding procedures are followed.
  • Lead on the implementation of policies, procedures, and quality assurance measures.
  • Actively involve young people in decision-making processes, encouraging their participation and listening to their perspectives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Diploma Level 3/4 in Children, Young People, and Families Practitioner, with willingness to work towards Level 5 if not already obtained.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in children’s social care, supported accommodation, or a similar setting.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, legislation, and best practices in supported accommodation, safeguarding, and child protection.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships with staff, young people, families, and external stakeholders.
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine commitment to improving the lives of young people.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Flexibility to work on a shift basis.
