Learning Support Assistant (Visual Impairment)
Tameside
Full Time, Maternity Cover
£12.60 per hour, plus holiday pay
Reed Further Education are recruiting LSAs in Tameside, to support young people with visual impairment across several sites.
Day to Day of the role;
To work under the guidance of the Teacher in Charge and Qualified Teachers for Vision Impairment (QTVI’s) an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom.
- Work with the teacher in planning, evaluating and adjusting work plans as appropriate
- Monitor and evaluate pupils’ responses to learning activities through observation and recording of achievement against predetermined learning objectives
- Use specialist skills/training/experience to support pupils
- Implement agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responses/needs.
Requirements;
- Level 3 Learning Support/Teaching Assistant qualification
- Experience supporting young people with visual impairment
- Commitment to undertake further specialist training as appropriate eg. Braille and ICT
- DBS on the update service or the willingness to apply for one
- Immediate, full time availability
