Our client is a Southwest based, PE backed, high growth ethical business in the property sector. Due to business growth, they have created a brand new Financial Controller position enabling rapid career progression and exposure to start up business mechanics and investor relations.
Reporting to, and supported by the CFO, the Financial Controller will take ownership of the day-to-day financial activities, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial tasks. The role will initially have no direct reports but be supported by an external bookkeeper managing invoicing and raising payments. This is a chance for an ambitious individual to really forge your own path, heading up and creating a finance department to support the business needs.
With planned business growth the finance team is expected to grow quickly, built by the Financial Controller, enabling them to own and create their own department.
Our client is offering significant flexible working options including hybrid, remote, and part-time or condensed working patterns for exceptional candidates. The role will initially be remote based - with a new office facility expected in 12-18 months - and will support a Southwest CFO requiring occasional travel to sites in the Southwest.
Our feeling is that this role would suit a newly qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA or ACCA) from a mid-tier firm, with hands-on experience of working with and supporting dynamic SME businesses. Or potentially, a more experienced Financial Controller seeking flexible / PT working patterns. The salary offered can be pro-rata depending on candidate experience levels.
In time the development expectation is for the role to progress with performance and business growth into a Finance Director role enabling the CFO to focus more strategically.
