Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our expanding sales team. This remote role (UK-based) will focus on developing new business opportunities and nurturing existing client relationships in the IT Service Management (ITSM) and Managed Services sectors. As a key part of our sales team, you will be responsible for generating sales leads, building strong client relationships, and identifying opportunities for business growth.
In this remote business development role, you’ll serve as the main point of contact for clients, assisting them in achieving their business goals through our cutting-edge enterprise software solutions. You will utilise your exceptional sales skills to identify gaps, eliminate competitor threats, and drive growth opportunities across the ITSM market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop sales strategies and drive new business opportunities in the ITSM and Managed Services sectors.
- Conduct prospecting activities including cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.
- Generate and qualify leads by identifying prospects and converting them into clients.
- Accurately forecast monthly and quarterly sales and meet sales quotas consistently.
- Build and maintain a detailed sales pipeline, track client interactions, and ensure regular client follow-ups.
- Deliver engaging sales presentations, product demos, and proposals to prospective clients.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and recommend tailored software solutions.
- Up-sell and cross-sell products/services to existing clients, ensuring they are leveraging all relevant solutions.
- Support clients through the sales lifecycle, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to Professional Services.
- Maintain a database of prospects, clients, partners, and vendors using CRM software.
- Work with internal teams to provide accurate reporting, sales forecasts, and industry analysis.
- Manage and close sales opportunities with decision-makers across various industries.
- Conduct product demonstrations and client training sessions to ensure satisfaction and solution adoption.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in B2B sales, particularly in the IT Service Management (ITSM), Managed Services, or Enterprise Software industries.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, sales funnels, and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms.
- Ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies and consistently meet sales targets.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong track record of building client relationships and successfully closing sales.
- Proficient in prospecting and lead generation, with a focus on targeting key decision-makers.
- Strong problem-solving skills , with the ability to identify opportunities for growth and offer tailored solutions.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, with site visits required 2-3 days per week.
- A self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and a results-driven approach to business development.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the enterprise software or ITSM space.
- Experience with complex sales cycles and large enterprise accounts is highly desirable.
- A solid understanding of the ITSM, IT Service Desk, or Managed Services industries will be a strong advantage.
