About the Role

As Maintenance and Repair Lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring the post-construction care and maintenance of the Hinkley Point C site is delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. Working closely with the Operations Director, site teams, and key stakeholders, you will lead a dedicated team to uphold operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities of a Maintenance and Repair Lead

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage the maintenance and repair team, ensuring the site is maintained in line with client and project requirements.
  • Post-Construction Delivery: Oversee post-construction delivery, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Risk Management: Develop risk assessments, method statements, and maintenance schedules.
  • Site Safety: Ensure site conditions are safe, tidy, and secure, contributing to a culture of "Zero Harm."
  • Operational Management: Manage quality, productivity, and resource utilisation across site operations.
  • Support Processes: Supervise and support commissioning, defect management, and site close-out processes.
  • Project Engagement: Proactively engage in project planning, reviews, and reporting to support successful delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives, promoting innovation and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Education: Relevant construction or engineering qualification (Level 3 ONC or above preferred).
  • NVQ: Level 3 NVQ in Construction Site Supervision or equivalent.
  • Health and Safety: Valid health and safety qualification and CSCS Engineer Skill Card or JIB/ECS (Black).
  • Project Management: Proven track record of managing large-scale projects, preferably in nuclear or regulated industries.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and organisational skills, with experience in managing site teams.
  • Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications for a Maintenance and Repair Lead

  • Advanced Qualifications: Level 4/5 qualifications in Facilities or Site Management.
  • Professional Status: Chartered status or working towards membership with CIOB or CIBSE.
  • Project Management Tools: Experience with project management tools such as MS Project or Asta Power Project.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of nuclear site licence conditions or similar regulated environments.
