2nd Line Field Service EngineerContract: 6-Month Fixed Term ContractLocation: South West England (Flexible Location)Salary: £31,000 per annumHours: 37 hours per weekCooper Lomaz are working in partnership with a business to source a 2nd line Field Service Engineer to provide on-site IT support across South West England. You will be responsible for responding to 2nd line helpdesk calls, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure at customer sites.This role requires someone with strong technical expertise, capable of working independently while delivering exceptional customer service. You will provide support for hardware, software, networking, and system administration, ensuring technical problems are resolved promptly to minimise disruptions.Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Conduct asset and equipment audits.
  • Set up and configure IT systems for customer projects.
  • Respond to customer tickets and take ownership of escalated incidents.
  • Provide in-depth support for complex technical issues.
  • Perform regular system checks and audits, ensuring security patches and software updates are applied.
  • Travel to customer sites for on-site support (overnight stays may be required).
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary for critical support.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Advanced knowledge of operating systems and hardware.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for software, networking, and remote desktop support.
  • Experience with virtual environments and cloud-based solutions.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft Exchange, and Office 365 administration.
  • Proven experience in a 2nd Line IT support role.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on experience with IT infrastructure.
