Position: Locum Civil and Criminal Litigation Lawyer
Organisation:Thames Valley Based Local Authority
Duration: 3 months +
Working Pattern: Full time ideally but part time also considered (minimum 3 days). Predominantly remote working, attending court when required
Rate: Up to £55 per hour Umbrella (dependant on experience)
The successful candidate is required to understand Local Government Legal Framework including relevant policies and practice issues. You will need to have a strong drive to deliver high quality standards of service to the Local Authority.
This role offers a great opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders including elected members, officers, and commissioners.
Qualifications required:
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive or a member of the Bar who has completed pupillage/registered FILEX
- Current Practising Certificate
Your role will involve:
- Deal with a mixed and varied caseload of Civil and Criminal Litigation matters
- Including matters such as, but not limited to, Licensing, fly tipping, planning enforcements, community protection, environmental offences
- Attend hearings and court, conducting own advocacy when required
