Locum Commercial Contracts and Procurement Lawyer – 6 months - Remote – £60 per hour

Are you an experienced Commercial Contracts and Procurement Lawyer with a strong background in the public sector, particularly local government?

Venn Group is recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts and Procurement Lawyer to support a Local Authority on a 6-month remote working assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional seeking a high-level interim role with flexibility.

Role Details:

  • Duration: 6 months
  • Rate: Up to £60 per hour (Umbrella)
  • Working Arrangement: Fully remote (collect equipment on first day)
  • Hours: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and advising on contracts for a variety of services, goods, and works
  • Advising on grant agreements and procurement law
  • Providing legal support on local authority governance matters, ensuring compliance with the Council’s constitutional requirements for contracts
  • Assisting with broader commercial legal matters as required

About You:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with public sector experience
  • Strong knowledge of procurement law, contracts, and local government governance
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced legal environment
