Locum Prosecutions & Licensing Lawyer – hybrid working – 6-12 months (Maternity Cover) - up to £55 per hour Umbrella – Midlands
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are pleased to be recruiting for a Locum Prosecutions & Licensing Lawyer to join a lovely and supportive team in a Public Sector Organisation in the Midlands area.
This assignment will be for an initial period of 6-12 months to cover maternity leave.
The ideal candidate would work part time (3-4 days) on a hybrid working basis (Attending monthly Licensing committees)
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a Local Authority and will have a broad working understanding of Criminal Prosecutions and Licensing work to deal with a varied caseload.
Duties may include:
- Provide legal advice,on a wide range of Criminal matters including Fly Tipping offences and Education offences – Irregular School Attendance / Unauthorised Absences
- Handle Breach of Tree Preservation Orders and Health and Safety Offences
- Deal with Health and Safety at work Act 1974, Non-Compliance with Enforcement Notices
- Conduct Case Preparation and case management of allocated cases for Court purposes and liaise with the relevant Clients from various departments within the Local Authority
- Handle Full advocacy cases, Prosecuting matters on behalf of the Council
- Prepared briefs for Counsel and liaised with them on matters due for Court
- Handle a varied caseload of Licensing matters and attend Licensing committees when required
An attractive hourly rate of up to £55 per hour Umbrella is offered for this position dependant on experience.
