Locum SEN & Education Lawyer – Remote Working – up to £60 per hour Outside IR35 – 6 Months + – Midlands

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with an established Local Authority in Midlands who are recruiting for a Locum SEN & Education Lawyer to join their department.

The role will be preformed on a remote basis with occasional office presence required. Our client is ideally seeking someone to take on the position on a full-time basis however, candidates with part-time availability may also be considered if they possess the relevant experience.

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with Local Government experience with solid understanding of a wide range of Education and SEND matters.

Previous experience needed includes:• Carry a caseload of Tribunal meets whilst also providing support to junior members of staff within the team• Knowledge of and ability to apply and interpret SEN and Education Law• Knowledge of SEN court and Tribunal procedures • Knowledge of Local Government law, especially in relation to Education law, Judicial Review and FOI/DPA• Experience of conducting case files, drafting pleadings and witness statements • Ability to conduct legal research, interpret legislation and summarise the key points of case law

An attractive rate is on offer of up to £60 per hour Outside IR35 dependent on individual experience.
