Job title: Quality Manager

Our Client:
Our client is a precision engineering subcontract machine shop that specialises in high quality turning and 5 axis CNC machining in the aerospace, motorsport, defence and commercial customer bases.
Priding themselves on investing in the best equipment, tooling and training along with having a motivated and skilled workforce.
Following continued expansion of the capacity with the purchase of 2 further mill turn machines and another 5 axis machining centre, capabilities and an expanding order book we look forward to finding the new Quality Manager to join this business as one of the key decision makers.
Your Role as Quality manager:
To control quality throughout the business, managing external customer needs as well as the Quality teams delivery and business needs. To advise on best measurement techniques and practices and promote a continuous improvement ethos. You must have experience within an AS9100 quality environment.
Quality Manager responsibilities include but aren't limited to:
- Be the voice of the customer within the business.
- Maintain and update as necessary the quality management system (QMS).
- Be the first point of contact for quality concerns for customers
- Review contracts from customers and NDA's as and when required.
- Conduct internal and supplier audits.
- Host certification body and customer audits.
- Maintain regulatory compliance within the quality aspects of the business.
- Manage, train and mentor the quality team and ensure a good level of morale is maintained.
- Management of client meetings
- Maintain the supplier, internal and customer non-conformance system.
- Maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
- Ensure NCR's are investigated, completed and returned to customers.
- Sign off /Complete First Article to AS9102, PPAP and inspection reports (ISIR).
- Ensure adherence to agreed plans and procedures and adherence to KPI's.
- Conduct reject analysis for internal and external rejects.
- Carry out root cause analysis and complete RCCA reports.
- Conduct inspection of externally supplied materials, goods and parts when needed.
- Use of metrology equipment when required
Quality manager required skills:
- Time served Quality Manager with a background in precision engineering (Aerospace/Automotive/Defence)
- Experienced with supplier development and interaction
- AS9100 D Lead Auditor (IRQA)
- Writing compliances and instructions inline with AS9100
- Sabre 4 trained - would be desirable
- Ability to make key decisions
- Good time management skills
- Must be able to pass BPSS security clearance (will be paid for)
