Are you an experienced mechanical engineer ready to take a leadership role in cutting-edge technology development? We're looking for an Associate Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead a team and deliver innovative solutions for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

About the role:

Reporting to the Mechanical Design Engineering Manager, you'll guide projects from concept through to commissioning, ensuring they are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, and to spec. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, customers, and internal stakeholders, applying best practices in engineering and leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of ~6 mechanical engineers.
  • Drive team performance using SMART objectives and regular 1:1s.
  • Champion best-practice mechanical engineering to ensure delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality solutions.
  • Create and manage work packages across cross-functional teams from design to volume production.
  • Ensure designs meet stakeholder requirements and comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Share your technical expertise to support training, mentoring, and the professional growth of your team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical design within a regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, safety standards, and engineering methodologies (e.g., PHA, HAZOP, FMEA).
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing engineering teams.
  • Skilled in full product development lifecycle (e.g., V-curve).
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
  • Formal qualifications in Functional Safety.
