Senior Practitioner BIA, Adult Safeguarding, BerkshirePertemps are recruiting for an experienced Senior Practitioner Best Interests Assessor (BIA) to join an Adult Safeguarding team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual with advanced knowledge and expertise in adult safeguarding and the Mental Capacity Act.Role Responsibilities:
  • Undertake Best Interests Assessments (BIA) in compliance with the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
  • Work collaboratively with professionals, service users, and their families to ensure decisions align with the individual’s best interests.
  • Provide expert advice, guidance, and oversight of safeguarding concerns, ensuring the effective application of legislation and policies.
  • Support and mentor junior staff, fostering professional development and high-quality safeguarding practices.
  • Ensure timely completion of assessments and reports in line with statutory deadlines and organisational expectations.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Accreditation as a Best Interests Assessor (BIA).
  • Extensive experience in adult safeguarding and a strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, MCA, and DoLS.
  • SWE registered
