- Manage the day-to-day operations of the team, including assessment, care planning, child protection, and data analysis.
- Provide specialist interventions to children and families across Luton, ensuring all actions are in line with statutory provisions and best practices.
- Coach, guide, and mentor the Deputy Team Manager and team members.
- Support continuous professional development, keeping the team up to date with new legislation, research, and guidance.
- Monitor team performance through auditing case files, quality assurance, and tracking progress.
- Conduct regular supervision and check-ins to support staff strengths and address areas for improvement.
- Attend Team Manager Meetings and service briefings, contributing to the continuous improvement of service standards and problem-solving.
- Work closely with Procurement, Children’s Commissioning, and Financial Services to manage the team’s budget as the cost centre manager, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- Proven experience managing teams in a children’s social care setting, particularly within Children Looked After services.
- In-depth knowledge of child protection legislation, care planning, and looked-after children’s needs.
- Strong decision-making skills in high-risk safeguarding scenarios.
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and leadership skills to inspire and develop your team.
- Experience in performance management, including auditing, quality assurance, and complaints handling.
- Social Work England registered
