In the Children in Care team, you will lead and support a team dedicated to helping children and young people in care. Your role will involve assessing the needs of children, developing care plans, and ensuring they receive the services and support that promote their well-being and help them thrive

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring adherence to the Children and Families Act 2014, with a focus on fully understanding the unique needs, risks, and strengths of children in care, particularly those with disabilities.
  • Collaborating with families, healthcare professionals, educators, and other relevant services to gather a complete and well-rounded view of each child's situation.
  • Managing a diverse caseload of children with varying disabilities, making sure that their care plans are continuously reviewed and updated to reflect their changing needs and progress.
  • Identifying and responding to any safeguarding concerns, taking prompt action to protect children from harm, abuse, or neglect.
  • Championing the voices of children and young people, ensuring their opinions and wishes are central to all decisions regarding their care and support
