Control Systems Engineer

Remote / Hybrid – Working from home + travelling to clients in Manchester areas and West Yorkshire (not limited to these areas)

Circa £47,000 – 40 hours

25 days holidays + bank holidays, paid overtime at single rate during the week and £28p/h on weekends and bank holidays, pension scheme, pool car

Established in 2012, we are specialists in control systems and automation services from the initial concept through to design and on-site commissioning. We provide automation services to various industries such as food, automotive, packaging, utilities and processing. Due to growth within the business, we are looking for a Control Systems Engineer to join the team.

Key skills:

  • Experience at fault finding and commissioning on electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Electrical fault finding is essential.
  • PLC Programming is essential
  • Proficient in writing software for PLCs, HMIs and integrated drive systems.
  • Good working knowledge of Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000 and FTView, Mitsubishi GX & GT Works.
  • Siemens knowledge is essential.
  • Experience with older control systems and the ability to upgrade and replace newer systems.
  • Ability to design electrical control systems using AutoCAD or EPlan or SEE Electrical.

Ideal candidate:

  • Must have excellent customer service skills with experience of responding efficiently and effectively to queries and providing information about the work being undertaken
  • Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency at writing accurate reports and complete other documentation accurately with a good command of the English language is essential.
  • Ability to manage own time effectively and efficiently and able to prioritise a varied workload to tight deadlines this includes the ability to assess and organise resources and plan and progress work activities
  • Ideally based in West Yorkshire or Manchester areas.
  • This is a home-based position.
  • Willing to travel and spend time away from home if required, including working abroad.
  • Current valid driving license is essential.

In return:

In return my client is willing to pay up to approximately £47,000 + paid overtime for the right candidate. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a predominantly remote basis for a growing company.
