Senior Java Developer/Team Leader
North Bristol - 3 days onsite per week
Salary: £60-65k + discretionary annual bonus + private healthcare + 26 days holiday (plus bank holiday and a holiday buy/sell scheme)
SR2 have a new opportunity with an innovative tech company based in North Bristol, the role would be hybrid working 3 days per week in the office and 2 from home.
The business build unique products & services, and it's a great time to join them with some ambitious growth plans and a strong direction for the company over the next few years. Join their software engineering team, who are following best engineering practices and agile development.
We are looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer, who is eager to take on some line management responsibilities (3 engineers) including mentoring, 1-2-1s, annual appraisals - if you haven't worked as a line manager before but this is a step you are looking for in your career the business can offer some line management training.
The leadership aspects to this role would include having 3 software engineers to line manage.
You can expect to be working with technologies including: Java, Spring, Azure, GitLab, CI/CD Pipelines, SQL databases.
Experience we are looking for:
- Strong foundational experience in Java development using the Spring Framework
- Familiar with Azure Cloud (other cloud experience also considered, Azure is the main preference as that's what the are using)
- Experience of cross-collaboration - this role will include working with engineers, product owners, BA's.
- Experienced in mentoring/coaching along with 1-2-1s, appraisals (if you haven't got experience but interested to take a step into line management please reach out)
