Learning Support Assistant

One of our lovely schools in the Nailsea area are looking for a learning support assistant to provide 1-2-1 support to a student with ASD (Autism) in a mainstream primary school setting starting this month.

Your main role will be supporting the child in the classroom, building a rapport to help them feel confident and motivated. This will include maintaining their routine, handling sensory overload, and engaging in various learning techniques to adapt to their needs.

To be successful in the role you will need to have:

  • Experience supporting a student with SEND (preferable)
  • A positive, resilient mentality - this role can be incredibly rewarding, but equally will require time, dedication, and patience
  • Clear communication skills and be confident working with children

We're looking for candidates who can start immediately and can work Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm. The school may consider part-time/ job share for the right candidate.
