SEN Teacher in North Somerset

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teacher in North Somerset to join our team. As a SEN Teacher, you will be required to teach all subjects, focusing on encouraging pupils to actively participate in classroom activities and develop cognitive, numerical and verbal reasoning skills to achieve their learning objectives

About the Role: As an SEN Teacher in North Somerset, you will:

  • Use creative, interactive and engaging teaching methods to engage SEN students with their learning
  • Liaise with parents to ensure a supporting learning environment at home and at school
  • Promote the application of exciting and engaging teaching skills to enhance the pupil's learning experience
  • Deliver quality teaching and effective intervention strategies
  • Provide a safe and healthy environment and follow safeguarding procedures
  • Organise learning resources suitable for the pupils in your care
  • Set, mark and grade homework, record completion and individual pupil progress

Requirements for the role:

  • Must have QTS
  • Previous in-school teaching experience
  • Fluent level of both spoken and written English
  • Either live in Hillingdon or within a commutable distance
  • A clear understanding of the SEN framework
  • To have taught children with special needs, ideally complex needs or autism
