Your new companyOur client is a market leader in the transportation of bulk products in Scotland and the North of England. They have over 150 vehicles and 600 trailers and have been established for a number of years. Due to continued growth, they are recruiting a Transport Planner to join their busy traffic office.Your new roleEfficient co-ordination of staff to ensure the transport/logistics requirements of clients are met. Maintain and improve effective relationships / interactions between clients. Co-ordination of transport resources to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and client needs. Ensure Drivers are trained and competent and have received sufficient training to fulfil their role. Achieve standards as per client requirements in documentation. Be pro-active on H&S issues and maintain a seamless supply chain operation.Partnership approach to ensure that standards are achieved in line with client aspirations. Incident reporting, investigation, actioning. Zero incident targeting. This position is Monday -Friday 0800-1700 with flexibility to cover other hours during holiday period.What you'll need to succeedWe are looking for candidates who have the ability to work to tight deadlines. Good interpersonal skills and customer focused. You must be flexible in your approach to work and shift patterns. Good team worker and the ability to work on your own initiative where required. Have excellent problem-solving, analytical and organisational skills and be able to communicate well at all levels within the business. Knowledge of haulage industry legislation is preferred.
