Titan are currently working with a very successful manufacturing company based in Dumbarton who are looking for a Welder to join their team

The purpose of the role is to satisfy welding and fabrication requirements to engineering drawings within the workshop by employing efficient and effective working practices. Ensure Safety and Quality standards are maintained and job specifications comply with company and client requirements.


Role responsibilities -
  • Weld TIG, MAG, processes with gas / oxygen propane heating requirements
  • TIG welding to Penetrant Testing (PT) and Radiographic Testing (RT) standards
  • Weld MMA
  • Welding/fabrication, marking off, plasma burning
  • Pipe welding and fit-up
  • Orbitalum pipe preparation
  • Mark off and drilling operations
  • Crane operation and lifting and singing of materials
  • Operate de-burring equipment
  • Load and move materials to work area using approved safe methods
  • Read and interpret engineering data and drawings
  • Maintain high standard of house keeping and operate safely in line with company Health & Safety policy and risk assessments
  • Maintain machinery and parts to ensure equipment remains in optical operating condition
  • Regularly clean and inspect tools and equipment for reliability and usability
  • Work as part of a team rotating between Dayshift and Nightshift as required
  • Support the wider team and departments in terms of ad-hoc tasks and projects
  • Handle customer information in line with data protection compliance

Requirements -
  • Recognised Welding/Fabrication apprenticeship
  • Operational knowledge of welding & fabrication equipment
  • An ability to read and interpret Engineering data and drawings is essential
  • Sufficient and appropriate experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Preferential TIG welding experience

Previous experience within a similar environment is essential

The company offers a great working environment, working Monday to Friday (early finish on a Friday!)
