Job Title: Setting Out Engineer
Location: Dumfries
Salary: 300- 400 per day
Employment Type: Full-time, temporary
Job Description:
We are seeking a Setting Out Engineer to work on a new build school. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil engineering, specifically in setting out, and be proficient in using surveying equipment and software. The role will involve site-based duties, liaising with site teams, and ensuring all work is carried out in line with design and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately set out project locations, using GPS, total stations, and other relevant surveying equipment.
- Interpret technical drawings and ensure that construction is carried out according to plan.
- Provide accurate and timely information to the site team.
- Coordinate with other engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
- Keep records of work completed and materials used.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed on-site.
Key Requirements:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer, ideally with knowledge of construction techniques and practices.
- Must have own equipment.
- Proficient in using surveying instruments, including total stations, GPS, and levels.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Full driving license and willingness to travel to various sites as required.
