First People Solutions are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a highly reputable civil engineering and construction company for a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an established contractor known for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors.
About the Role:
As a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator, you will play a vital role in the successful delivery of civil engineering and construction projects. This hybrid position offers a mix of home and office-based working, with the office located in Dumfries. You will be responsible for ensuring cost efficiency, accurate estimations, and the financial management of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for civil engineering projects.
- Manage the financial performance of ongoing projects, ensuring they are completed within budget.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and resolve any cost-related issues.
- Prepare valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Monitor project progress, identifying and addressing any potential financial risks.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all projects.
- Support the wider project team in achieving successful outcomes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator within the civil engineering or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of contracts, procurement, and financial management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficient in relevant software and tools for estimating and cost management.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to the office in Dumfries a few days per week.
