Accounts Assistant

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant on behalf of our Accountancy Practice client who’s interested in moving into a Grants Audit team. This role involves overseeing the management, compliance, and reporting of grant-funded projects, providing guidance and support to both clients and internal teams with full training and support provided.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in Accountancy Practice, ideally working in either an Audit, Accounts or Payroll role with full training provided.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee the management, compliance, and reporting of grant-funded projects.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to clients.
- Liaise with clients and the wider grants team to plan current and future projects.
- Participate in client training sessions and initial meetings to clarify guidance and requirements.
- Address client queries related to grant-funded projects.
- Conduct onsite fieldwork at client locations as needed.
- Contribute to tenders for grant-related work.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- University degree or HNC/HND in Accounting with previous work experience within Accountancy Practice.
- Proficient in technical and client interfacing skills.
- Strong IT and report writing skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience working on grant claims, particularly Innovate UK and EU grants would be beneficial but not essential
