The Company

SRG are delighted to be working with a global name in the chemicals manufacturing industry to recruit a production chemist for their precious metal catalyst manufacturing facility in Dundee, Scotland.

This is a very unique and exciting opportunity to join an extremely talented, close-knit and collaborative team whilst having the backing of a globally-recognised brand with sites in the UK, US & Asia.

The team in Dundee consists of 14 people including highly experienced electrochemists, production chemists, quality control & central operations, meaning this role will provide the opportunity to learn from & collaborate with some expert-level scientists in the production & development of precious metal catalysts on a kilo scale.

The Role

The production chemist position sits within the company's production team reporting into the senior production chemist. This position's main function is to support the production of high-value catalysts according to the organisation's SOPs. This role will work closely with other areas of the business including R&D and quality control.

As part of the production team you will also be responsible for the set-up, maintenance and refresh of laboratory equipment and ensuring that all laboratory records are maintained,including safety documentation and production records.

The Right Person

Required

  • Higher Education qualification in Chemistry, or similar (Forensics, Biochemistry, etc.)
  • Demonstrable laboratory experience (from industry or academia)
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols
  • Hard-working attitude & a willingness to learn

Desirable

  • Prior experience in a production chemistry environment
  • Prior experience in a wet chemistry laboratory
  • Prior experience with high-value chemicals, including PGMs
