I am currently recruiting for a senior role in the outskirts of Dundee, my client is a manufacturing company looking for the services of an experienced Plant Manager.

Job PurposeThis position is responsible for plan, direct, and manage the manufacture of all products within the client's client's assigned facility to ensure and maintain product quality requirements, meet manufacturing schedules, achieve process improvements and cost objectives, and attain and sustain optimal employee performance with the objective of creating a world-class operations environment.Responsibilities:- Lead and drive a Safety and Quality culture- Develop and implement an organisational structure to meet site operations objectives.- Drive Safety, Cost, Quality, Service & Delivery performance- Deliver site targets relating to HSE- Support site quality improvements and audits- Control and deliver performance across all site processes- Coordinate the establishment of site objectives, track and publish results.- Complete performance trackers & site scorecards- Develop the site team through individual development plans / coaching sessions- Manage the site budgets and costs- Drive improved productivity with targeted cost improvement initiatives- Lead capital investments for the site actively- Drive asset utilisation programmes focusing on shift patterns and staff deployment- Manage inventory plans and improve inventory turns (Quarterly)- Manage site processes to minimise overdue customer orders- Drive a continuous improvement culture- Organise and lead regular site management leadership team meetings and team briefs- Champion & implement the clients 'best practices' in an assigned facility- Keep offsite management informed of the performance of local groups, the site, site emergencies and any other site-based activity- Ensure provision of infrastructure resources to manage and maintain a safe and secure working environment.- Coordinate various site functions to address common issues as well as maintain and improve conditions.- Address and resolve conflicts which may occur between various site functions.- Driving a collaboration culture and embedding the clients' valuesOperations- Plan and direct operations team to meet organisational objectives- Develop short- and medium-term targets for the site against the three key areas of quality, cost and delivery- In collaboration with finance, develop manufacturing schedules and ensure sufficient capital and human resources are available- Work with Supervisors to coordinate scheduling and plan daily activities- Resolve problems such as parts shortages, production issues, and specifications- Initiate and provide engineering review for process improvement and equipment upgrade programs- Analyse cost variances and initiate corrective action as needed- Evaluate performance of direct reports and review performance appraisals for all indirect reports- Approve all personnel actions- Assure that facilities and all employees comply with all regulatory requirements- Using engineering expertise, overseeing the introduction of new products and processes into manufacturing- Deliver site KPIs, continuous improvement programmes, and site/business financial targets- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all security protocols and procedures on the siteCorporate- Partner with other departments, including Human Resources, Engineering, Quality and Finance- Understand and implement applicable HSE requirements that are applicable to the site operation.- Chair Site-level Quality System Management Reviews- Approve QMS/EMS documents in accordance with Site document control procedures- Host visitors to the site and provide an overview of the site when needed- Coordinate the establishment of site environmental objectives, track and publish resultsYears of ExperienceRecommended Minimum 5 or more years at a senior level and Degree qualifiedTechnical Knowledge and Skills- Manages experienced professionals- Often heads one or more sections or a small departmentIf you are a senior manufacturing professional with experience in looking after that is interested in developing your career with this world-class manufacturer - please contact me on the details below..
