Our client in Dundee is looking for a Small Works Manager to join them on a permanent basis due to recent growth. You will be responsible for estimating, day-to-day planning and management, coordination and budgeting activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities and systems involved within the Small Works Department of their construction team.

This role would be suitable for a site focused candidate with strong trades and people management experience looking for the next step in their career, or a current Small Works Manger looking for a new opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing all tender opportunities, assessing best options to ensure resources and margin strategy is considered andimplemented.
  • You will be responsible for Estimating most Small Works tenders
  • Review the tender and be responsible for final sign off, ensuring risk and margin has been fully considered.
  • Overall management including programme progress, cost control, direct labour management and management of sub-contractors.
  • Supervision of site management, and site teams as well as identifying training needs.
  • Liaising with project design teams to ensure information is timeously issued.
  • Manage systems and establish plan for managing health, safety and welfare.
  • Inspect on site on a regular basis to ensure the project is carried out in a safe and organised manner; inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and other regulations.

Experience:

  • Strong trades background
  • Experience managing and overseeing a team of trades workers
  • Full drivers licence
  • Minimum of MVQ or SVS, CSCS preferred.
  • CITB Site Supervisor Certificate
