Pharmacy Technician- Band 6

Location: Ninewells Hospital, Dundee

Working Hours : 37.5hours (8:30am - 4:30pm)

Start date: ASAP End date: Ongoing

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist licensed pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. This position plays a critical role in providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Preparation and Dispensing
    • Accurately measure, label, package, and deliver medications to patients or healthcare providers.
    • Compound medications when necessary under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Customer Service
    • Assist customers at the pharmacy counter, addressing questions and concerns professionally.
    • Process prescriptions, including verifying patient and prescription information.
  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain and manage inventory by ordering, stocking, and organizing pharmaceutical products.
    • Monitor medication storage to ensure compliance with temperature and security guidelines.
  • Administrative Duties
    • Operate pharmacy software to update patient records, manage insurance claims, and process payments.
    • Perform data entry and maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
