  • The position offers a negotiable salary based on experience, a 4-day working week from Monday to Thursday, and overtime opportunities.
  • City and Guilds/SVQ qualifications are required, and candidates with coded welder certifications will have an advantage.

We are working with a leading industrial company who are looking to add to their growing team. Due to increased workload, they are looking for an experienced Welder.

This team member will help maintain the processes and procedures in place for the sustainability and growth of the business that is continually moving forward.

Role

  • Responsible for set-up, lay-out, manufacture and installation of various steelwork and metalworks
  • Ability to tack up structures to tight tolerance.
  • Ability to weld out precision frames to exact tolerances, carry out final inspection of works and to hold final required cosmetic finish with angle grinders and sanders.
  • Move parts and heavy frames on and off machinery and throughout the facility in a safe responsible manner.
  • Read complicated prints/drawings and "spec. weld symbols".
  • Comply with the company management system requirements for quality and health and safety.
  • Take reasonable care of own and others safety, co-operate with manager/supervisor in complying with statutory health & safety duties, to report incidents, accidents, faults etc.

Person

  • Proven background in fabrication and welding, preferably having served a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Possess knowledge of, and ability to identify, fabrication industry metals.
  • Experience in TIG and pulse MIG welding with Stainless Steel is essential
  • Architectural metalwork experience in fabrication of balustrades and handrails * Experience in fabricating Stainless Steel parts/assemblies
  • City and Guilds / SVQ qualifications are required
  • Coded welders would be advantageous
