Jenson Fisher are delighted to be engaged on a retained basis by an established, dynamic and growing firm based in Dunfermline to recruit a Senior Practice Accountant on a permanent, full time basis.Our client are a boutique tax and accountancy firm who provide a range of tax, business advisory and compliance services to clients on a global basis. Their clients trust them because of the quality of their advice. That quality grows from taking time to understand the client and from working closely with clients to build long-lasting relationships. Consequently, this will be a significantly client facing role. The accounts team is looking to take on a new employee who has both the experience and drive to assist the firm in its controlled growth.Many of their clients are referred on from other professional firms who appreciate the skills they have to provide integrated solutions for clients, which is particularly important in relation to clients who have UK and US taxes to consider. This makes our client virtually unique regarding this in Scotland and have acknowledged expertise in this area.Day to day duties:• Review of financial statements as allocated.• Responsibility for overseeing and monitoring all company secretarial matters and assisting junior team members with this.• Main client contact on many clients.• Assist directors, accounts manager and senior tax manager on any matters as required.• Preparation of technical or complex accounts.• Business advisory work, including technical and software support for clients.• Produce both technical and topical articles to raise both own profile and firm’s profile.• Review client ledgers as allocated, monitoring budgets and invoicing.• Training and support junior team members.• Support the firm on AML matters.• Support the integration of new software into the firm.Other duties:• Attend professional development/networking opportunities.• Support accounts manager on technical matters and assist the senior team in decision making.• Cover the work of the Accounts manager when they are unavailable.Key Skills/requirements:• AAT qualified or qualified by experience.• Honest and Trustworthy.• At least 3 years of experience in practice, including advisory experience.• Organised, and an understanding of the importance of working to deadlines.• Adaptable to change and supportive of colleagues.• Excellent communicator.• Competent and embracing of IT.What to expect in return:• A generous salary reflective of the skills you have.• A 35-working week (with a 2 PM finish on Fridays).• 24 days annual leave plus 6 bank holidays plus additional days based on length of service.• Annual salary review.• Life assurance cover of 4 times salary.• Employer pension contributions.• Employee health and well being programme with shopping and leisure discounts.• Personalised support to maintain any CPD requirements.• A supportive and welcoming working environment.• Free parking.• Commission on introduction of new clients to the business.• Staff referral scheme.• Hybrid working.• Potential opportunity to upskill through supported professional examinations.To be considered for this fantastic opportunity please submit your application by clicking the link alternatively for a confidential discussion please contact Martin Crines, Retained Advisor using the details provided.
