About the Opportunity

One of our clients based in Dunfermline is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their busy team. You will play a crucial role in supporting their financial operations and contribute to their commitment to client satisfaction. As an Accounts Assistant, you will have a diverse range of duties including the preparation of management accounts, processing a large volume of invoices, bank reconciliation, VAT returns and credit control. The successful candidate will also be involved in the preparation of financial statements and will maintain regular communication with HMRC. This is a great opportunity for a finance professional with experience in Accountancy Practice to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare management accounts and financial statements in accordance with company standards.
  • Process a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns on time.
  • Manage credit control processes to maintain healthy cash flow.
  • Communicate regularly with HMRC regarding any queries or compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with other company departments as required to ensure a seamless process for clients.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience in an accounting practise.
  • Proficient in various accounting software packages.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent IT skills, with the ability to adapt to new technologies quickly.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach.
