Escape Recruitment's client in Dunfermline is looking for a Controls Engineer to join their engineering team. This role involves designing, developing, and supporting electrical/control systems, covering everything from new designs to maintaining existing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer technical requirements.
- Create and maintain drawings, specifications, , test procedures, and technical documentation.
- Program and configure Siemens PLCs to meet project needs.
- Develop and test new designs and prototypes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in design, programming, and commissioning.
- Conduct hazard/risk assessments and system testing to ensure reliability.
- Work closely with mechanical and project engineers to integrate control systems.
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies in control systems and automation.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field (equivalent experience also considered).
- Proficiency in Siemens PLC programming and configuration.
- Experience creating electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, fault finding, and circuit diagrams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools.
- Understanding of industry standards (e.g., IEC, UL, ISO) and safety protocols.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with motion control systems and drives.
- Familiarity with hydro-mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (e.g., PROFIBUS, MODBUS).
- Hands-on experience in commissioning and site support.
