Medical Assessments Assistant – HCA (Ministry of Defence) Company:?Pertemps Medical – MoD Job title:?Healthcare Assistant Base Salary:£28k pro rata (£16,800 per annum) Contract length: Initially fixed-term contract for 2.5 years with potential for a permanent role subject to terms and conditions Contract type:?Part-time Days: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday each weekHours:?08.00 – 17.30  Start Date:?April 2025 Location:?HMS Caledonia, Rosyth, Fife, Scotland Job OverviewWorking as one of 2 HCA's and part of a wider team of GP's and Navy personnel you will be working to deliver the medical assessments of new recruits into the Royal Navy. Principle Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Welcome and prepare patients for medical examination 
  • Measure and record preliminary health checks (e.g. Blood Pressure, Temperature, Pulse, Urinalysis, Peak flow) 
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms ensuring they are clean and well stocked 
  • Provide chaperone support where required 
  • Phlebotomy preferred but training will be provided if necessary 
  • Ensure preliminary health checks are recorded utilising internal IT systems  
  • Adhere to relevant healthcare policies and procedures 
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations 
  • Maintain infection control guidelines to ensure a safe environment 
Skils and Experience Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) 
  • Healthcare assistant Band 2 and/or Band 3  
  • Previous experience in an outpatient/occupational healthcare setting preferable 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skill
