Reed Finance is partnered with a successful & growing manufacturing business, in the appointment of a Financial Controller on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will support the senior management team in the overall management of the finance function whilst contributing to the overall company performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• To be fully responsible for all financial matters in the company
• Managing a small transactional finance team (2+ staff) 
• Oversee all ledger management, cash flow & projections, VAT, HMRC, budgets, costings and stock valuations
• Preparation of quarterly and year-end accounts
• Providing directors with monthly performance indicators, measuring performance against agreed metrics
• Provide department(s) with monthly reports on agreed metrics
• Working with banks on asset purchases, PH, Leases, FX, and other financial facilities
• Taking the finance department through the implementation of a new ERP system (already underway), liaising with other departments where necessary
• Management of the company insurances
• R&D claims process
• Working with the external auditors
• Working closely with HR regarding staff pension matters
• Establishing systems to monitor and report on costs on products, services and parts sales
• Working with all departments on cost saving initiatives across two sites
• Any other duties associated with the role of financial controller

Criteria:

• All applicants should be a fully qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
• You will offer at least 3 years’ previous experience in a similar role
• Preferably you will have previous experience in a manufacturing/engineering/production environment
• Previous experience in staff management
