Your new role
As a Process Control Technician, you will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and repair of processing equipment and machinery. Your role will involve optimising equipment setup and performing preventative maintenance to minimise downtime. You will monitor processes and equipment to ensure product quality and throughput meet specifications. Key responsibilities include ensuring the plant is fully operational, controlling key process input variables, maintaining set points, addressing alarms, and documenting corrective actions. You will also play a crucial role in maintaining consistent process control for raw material metering and reviewing process inputs to ensure product quality and equipment performance.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of 4 GCSEs, including English and Mathematics, or equivalent. You should have at least 2 years of experience in a process or equipment setup role in a high-volume production environment. Experience in mechanical setup, changeovers, and alignments on high-volume processing equipment is essential. You should be adept at following procedures, systems, and processes, and have experience monitoring and adjusting process variables to ensure control. Diagnosing process and equipment issues and taking effective corrective action is crucial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, is required. While not essential, an NVQ/HNC or equivalent in Engineering or relevant subjects, and knowledge of SCADA control systems, would be advantageous.
