Your new role
Your new role as a Mechanical Design Engineer will see you playing a crucial part in the design process of products. You will focus on specific projects to ensure designs are cost-effective and utilize the best-sourced materials. Your responsibilities will include researching, designing, and developing new products, as well as improving the performance and efficiency of existing ones. You will work closely with the Head of Engineering and production teams to develop bespoke vehicles and metal products, ensuring all design drawings are accurate and of high quality. Additionally, you will liaise with production floor teams, produce models, drawings, and manuals, and manage design issues to ensure they are resolved effectively.

What you'll need to succeed
What you'll need to succeed is a Higher Education Degree in an engineering or technical discipline, along with at least three years of experience as a design engineer within a metal fabrication environment. Experience with vehicle design, crushers, screeners, trailers, hydraulics, and electrics is highly advantageous. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks, along with strong technical drawing skills, is essential. You should possess excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. A passion for engineering and a hands-on approach is crucial for this role.
