Michael Page are recruiting for a Bookkeeper for a leading Engineering business on the outskirts of Great Dunmow. This is a newly created position and ideal for someone with a proven background in general accounting and payroll

Our client provide business support on climate compliance and energy efficiency providing crucial information on reducing carbon footprints and expenditure

Description

You will be responsible for managing payroll, debt chasing, and ensuring all invoices are paid in a timely manner. You will also handle supplier payments and maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a solid understanding of payroll processes, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Other duties would also include

  • Process and manage payroll for all employees accurately and on time.
  • Chase outstanding debts and manage collections in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure that all invoices are paid promptly and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Process payments to suppliers in accordance with agreed terms.
  • Reconcile any discrepancies related to payroll, invoices, and supplier payments.
  • Assist with preparing financial reports and budgets as required.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting regulations.
  • Support internal audits and resolve any financial discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, employees, and suppliers to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Perform general administrative tasks as needed to support Directors and other staff

Profile

You will have proven experience in general accounts role with excellent skills across all accounts payable, receivable and Payroll functions. You will have the ability to work well in a small team environment and have a pro-active approach that works well with senior members of the business
