IT Support Engineer // 1st Line Support // Windows 10 refresh // Migration // up to 3 Months contract // Felsted (onsite) // £20-24/hours
Reed Technology are working with a client in Felsted who require a IT Support Engineer. You will be handling first-line support and laptop/desktop builds (from image) for a significant device refresh project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle support requests via phone and email.
- Resolve IT issues and provide user training.
- Install, configure, and maintain PCs, printers, and network devices.
- Monitor and maintain IT hardware and software.
- Manage software licences.
- Liaise with vendors and external service providers.
- Collaborate with the Works Department on IT specifications.
- Participate in a call-out rota and work one Saturday morning a month.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as needed.
Essential Skills:
- Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows (10).
- Experience with PC hardware configuration (MDT/WDS).
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and under pressure.
- Good communication skills and teamwork abilities.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of FreeBSD, GNU/Linux, and Apple Macs.
- Hardware repair and software troubleshooting skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Must complete a DBS check.
