IT Support Engineer // 1st Line Support // Windows 10 refresh // Migration // up to 3 Months contract // Felsted (onsite) // £20-24/hours

Reed Technology are working with a client in Felsted who require a IT Support Engineer. You will be handling first-line support and laptop/desktop builds (from image) for a significant device refresh project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle support requests via phone and email.
  • Resolve IT issues and provide user training.
  • Install, configure, and maintain PCs, printers, and network devices.
  • Monitor and maintain IT hardware and software.
  • Manage software licences.
  • Liaise with vendors and external service providers.
  • Collaborate with the Works Department on IT specifications.
  • Participate in a call-out rota and work one Saturday morning a month.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as needed.

Essential Skills:

  • Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows (10).
  • Experience with PC hardware configuration (MDT/WDS).
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and under pressure.
  • Good communication skills and teamwork abilities.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of FreeBSD, GNU/Linux, and Apple Macs.
  • Hardware repair and software troubleshooting skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must complete a DBS check.
