Transport Planner

Transport PlannerJob Role:Make full use of all IT systems, TMS and customer portals to ensure efficient fleetand employee deployment.Fully utilise all vehicles to ensure accurate and appropriate allocation ofdrivers/vehicles.Identify, communicate, and drive any continuous improvements to continuallydevelop the operation of the business.Work closely with the Fleet to ensure vehicles are available to support theBookings team requirement, service scheduling is built into the plan and advisethe operation in a timely manner when there are any risks to vehicle.Communicate and share plans to the Bookings team to deliver throughefficiency and maintain customer service levels.Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and work with them tounderstand and resource their schedules. Also, to include but not limited to;effective handovers to the relevant individuals / departments, and keystakeholders for any operational delays to ensure a smooth and efficientservice is being delivered.Control and plan operational routes for the following day and provide rates,quotes and process all customer bookings to meet customers' needs andexpectations.Work as part of a team and participate in cross training initiatives to provideeffective cover in a colleague's absence.Operate to a high standard of general housekeeping and work safely, complyingwith all health and safety regulations to maintain a clean, safe, and tidy workingenvironment.Knowledge and experience:Relevant transport and planning experienceWorking knowledge of QRoutes desirableWorking and sound knowledge of transport operation systems and planningfunctionsGeographical knowledge of EssexKnowledge of Licencing regs for passenger transport; desirable can be trainedProven record in delivering cost effective customer focused routesIntermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.Ability to adapt and work under pressure and flexible in their approach.Sound team player and motivator who can work on own initiative.Good numerical and analytical skills paying strong attention to detail.Driven by continual improvement and high personal standardsHigh level of organisation and time management skillsAbility to analyse and solve logistic problemsAttention to detail and accuracy of data submittedStrong communication skills both verbal and writtenOur VisionBe recognised as the leading provider of specialist education transport for childrenand young people particularly those with special educational needsOffer a safe and efficient service that is reliable and flexibleBe a service that schools and clients can rely onBe a fleet of modern, energy efficient vehicles and employing a team ofhandpicked dedicated staff who are confident, competent, well trained and who areworking in the environment of their choice.We will deliver a first class service ensuring that the clients arrive in a safe, wellcontrolled and happy environment, giving them the best possible opportunity to startand end the day on a positive note.
