We have a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring apprentice to join our team. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are ambitious and want to gain playworker qualification while getting experience. You'll create meaningful relationships with the children, your team and with parents.
Working Hours
15-24 hours per week Monday to Friday term time only 7:30-9am (breakfast club) 3pm-6pm (after school club)24 hours per week.
Duration:
15- 18 months
The role
As an apprentice, youll work at a company and get hands-on experience. Youll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff. Playworkers work in a range of play settings offering different models of play work. The purpose of our curriculum is to support playworkers to develop into positive, flexible and team-focused members of staff, and to support them to provide the best possible provision for the children in their care.

Your training plan
The programme offers a blended approach including virtual classrooms, webinars, work-based tasks and online assignments. We use an online platform (BUD) that helps you learn the topics and skills, reflect on your practice and build your portfolio.
Candidates are not required to attend college, instead, this will include off the job training hours used throughout this apprenticeship. These OTJH will be within working hours of Employment- e.g., 30+ hours per week = 6 hours per week OTJH, less than 30 hours is 20% OTJH.
You will also receive one-to-one support and tuition from your apprenticeship tutor, this tutor will make in person visits to you at the nursery, or schedule online meetings every 5-6 weeks.

After this apprenticeship
- Progress within your setting as a supervisor or manager
- Work as a play work development officer for a local authority
- Move into a school as a Teaching Assistant
- Become self-employed and set up an after-school club or childcare project
- Move into an Early Years setting and proceed with an Early Years Educator Level 3 apprenticeship
About this company
We open our Breakfast club at 7:30am and run until 8:30am when the school opens. We operate from the school hall. During this time the children are offered a healthy, well balanced, buffet style breakfast. Our After School Club also operates from the school hall. Before the children arrive the area is transformed into fun and inviting play areas using easily accessible storage units and bright and cosy soft furnishings.
