Teacher of Design & Technology - Secondary School in Dunmow

Are you a passionate and skilled Teacher of Design & Technology looking for an exciting opportunity? Our successful secondary school in Dunmow is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Design & Technology to join our dynamic team and teach across KS3 and KS4. This role will give you the chance to inspire students in a range of Design & Technology subjects, including Resistant Materials, Textiles, and Food Preparation and Nutrition.

Our Design & Technology faculty is a thriving department housed in a purpose-built block at our Dunmow campus. With two well-equipped workshops on the ground floor, as well as two textiles rooms and two food rooms on the first floor, our facilities are tailored to offer students a comprehensive learning experience. An additional ICT room, specifically dedicated to Design & Technology, supports CAD/CAM projects from Year 7 through to Year 11. Alongside this, each teaching room has access to desktops or laptops, computer-controlled devices, and CAD packages, ensuring a modern and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4 in Dunmow
  • Teach a range of Design & Technology subjects, including Resistant Materials, Textiles, and Food Preparation and Nutrition
  • Use CAD/CAM in the classroom, utilizing tools like our large-bed laser cutter to inspire hands-on learning
  • Encourage students' creativity and practical skills, ensuring they develop strong competencies in design and problem-solving
  • Collaborate with a supportive team to contribute to the success of the Design & Technology faculty

About You:

  • A qualified Teacher of Design & Technology with experience across KS3 and KS4
  • Proficiency in using CAD/CAM and familiarity with computer-controlled devices for teaching purposes
