STEM Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Maintenance Team Leader to join a leading organisation in the Scottish Borders. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to lead and develop a high-performing maintenance team, ensuring the efficient execution of preventative and corrective maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate the maintenance team to achieve a excellent standards in preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and periodic inspections on all machinery, equipment, and accessories, including during annual shutdowns.
  • Ensure all team members have the necessary training, resources, and support to perform their roles effectively.
  • Track team performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all work complies with contract requirements, legislation, standards, and codes of practice, while maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
  • Oversee inspection and testing procedures, reviewing completed works in line with relevant certifications.
  • Conduct regular H&S checks to ensure full compliance with company policies, including proper filing of paperwork, and adherence to risk assessments and method statements.
  • Manage, develop, and motivate direct reports through performance assessments and, when necessary, support the disciplinary or grievance process in collaboration with HR.
  • Support and contribute to planned maintenance activities to optimise operational efficiency.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of preventative and corrective maintenance practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Familiarity with H&S regulations, risk assessments, and compliance standards.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage documentation accurately.
