Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experiencedHealth&SafetyAdvisorto join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaininghealthandsafetypolicies, conducting site inspections, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company standards. You will play a key role in promoting a positivesafetyculture within the company and supporting project teams in mitigating risks.
Health&SafetyAdvisor-Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance withhealthandsafetylegislation, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide advice and guidance to management, site teams, and subcontractors onhealthandsafetymatters.
- Develop and deliverhealthandsafetytraining, inductions, and toolbox talks.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Assist in the preparation and review of risk assessments, method statements, andsafetydocumentation.
- Liaise with external bodies such as the HSE, clients, and regulatory authorities when required.
- Maintain up-to-datehealthandsafetyrecords, reports, and documentation.
- Promote a strongsafetyculture and encourage a proactive approach to risk management.
Health&SafetyAdvisor-Essential Skills & Experience
- NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction Certificate (or equivalent qualification).
- Experience in ahealthandsafetyrole within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of UKhealthandsafetyregulations, including CDM 2015.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence all levels of staff.
- Strong report-writing and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively manage multiple tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to various sites as required.
Desirable:
- Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH or above) or working towards it.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Experience delivering training and toolbox talks.
