Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and experiencedHealth&SafetyAdvisorto join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaininghealthandsafetypolicies, conducting site inspections, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company standards. You will play a key role in promoting a positivesafetyculture within the company and supporting project teams in mitigating risks.

Health&SafetyAdvisor-Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance withhealthandsafetylegislation, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide advice and guidance to management, site teams, and subcontractors onhealthandsafetymatters.
  • Develop and deliverhealthandsafetytraining, inductions, and toolbox talks.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of risk assessments, method statements, andsafetydocumentation.
  • Liaise with external bodies such as the HSE, clients, and regulatory authorities when required.
  • Maintain up-to-datehealthandsafetyrecords, reports, and documentation.
  • Promote a strongsafetyculture and encourage a proactive approach to risk management.

Health&SafetyAdvisor-Essential Skills & Experience

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction Certificate (or equivalent qualification).
  • Experience in ahealthandsafetyrole within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of UKhealthandsafetyregulations, including CDM 2015.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence all levels of staff.
  • Strong report-writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to various sites as required.

Desirable:

  • Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH or above) or working towards it.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Experience delivering training and toolbox talks.
