Industrious Recruitment are seeking Production Operatives, within the Packing department on a permanent basis for a client in Dunstable.

WORKING PATTERN:

You will be required to participate in a 1 week in 3 shift pattern, this will consist of working a combination of:

  • 2 weeks between 6.00am and 2.00pm - Monday to Friday (with a 30-minute unpaid break).
  • 1 week between 1.45pm and 11.45pm - Monday to Thursday (with a 30-minute unpaid break

Main purpose of role:

Through a well-managed team, the post holder will be responsible for assisting the Production Supervisor and Senior Production Operative in either:

Managing and controlling resources associated with the Packing Area or managing the planning, co-ordination and control of all resources associated with the Process Area to enable their department to pack coffee products in accordance with the planned schedule whilst ensuring a safe operation, meeting quality standards and controlling wastage. Ensuring the Production operation adds value for customers, employees and the Company.

Key Resposibilities:

To ensure all operator food safety and health and safety checks are completed on time and in full. Any issues to be raised with Senior Operative/Supervisor immediately.

  • To ensure adherence to all Health and Safety policies adopted by the company
  • To ensure adherence to all Food Safety policies adopted by the company
  • To maintain excellent GMP standards at all times in the Production Area, delivering quality standards required of customers and external audits
  • To ensure 100% compliance with the product specification to deliver product within agreed quality parameters
  • To manage and control the data collection systems and monitoring processes, ensuring that all documentation and communication is processed and delivered to the cross functional departments, as required on a timely and regular basis.
  • To ensure the Production area runs at optimal output in accordance to production plans, whilst spotting opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • To ensure set KPI’s are met with the resources at your disposal and report reasons when not met.
  • To help manage and control costs, yields and giveaway within the Production Department.
  • Ensure safety culture is maintained at all times and ensure any concerns are raised with your Supervisor or Production Manager.
  • To work with the H & S Team to continually improve standards by challenging poor practices.
  • Perform daily equipment checks in line with the operational standards.
  • Loading and Unloading vehicles in a safe and effective manner
  • Checking all outbound or inbound loads to meet the Business quality requirements as agreed with the technical team.
  • To ensure effective, accurate and timely stock management to include space allocation stock transfer and dealing with non-conforming stock.
  • To maintain excellent GMP standards at all times in the Warehouse and Outside Yard, delivering continual improvement through regular challenge of the standards.
  • Assist in ensuring accurate and periodic cycle counts and stock takes are completed
  • Ensure quality measures (GMP Scores) are achieved and continually improved upon Sundry counts.

Hourly rates:

AM shift - £13.79 per hour Overtime - £20.69 per hour

PM shift - £15.58 per hour Overtime - £23.37 per hour
