What You Can Expect

Main Responsibilities as a Commercial Counsel

  • Drafting, negotiating and finalising a wide variety of complex commercial contracts including heads of terms and confidentiality agreements.
  • Ensuring that all contracts protect the businesses interests and minimise risks.
  • Developing and standardising legal agreements to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Proactively engaging with stakeholders to streamline agreement processes.
  • Providing prompt and practical legal advice to the marketing team to ensure compliance with advertising and marketing laws/regulations.
  • Advising on the application of advertising codes of practices and helping the business avoid potential fines, public censure or reputational damage.
  • Assisting the Legal Director and General Counsel in implementing and improving the compliance program, including adherence to the Code of Conduct and ASA compliance.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • *CANDIDATES MUST BE BASED IN THE UK*
  • Proven track record within a commercial role.
  • Experience working with contracts, compliance and general corporate is essential.
  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 6 years post qualification experience at a large commercial law firm or large PLC in-house department is essential.
  • A Bachelor’s degree with a 2:1 or above grade from an established university.
  • Experience applying ASA rules and guide terms to ensure compliance is desirable.
