SEND Teaching Assistant - Dunstable - January 2025 start - July 2025 - Potential to go permanently with the school in July

Are you a passionate SEND TA based within commutable distance to Dunstable? Are you looking to join a fantastic SEND school on a full-time basis?

Our partner school in Dunstable caters for children with cognition and learning delays. With class sizes of around 10, you will be working as part of a large staff team who focus on providing an individualised learning experience for all of their students. The school are looking for people who are capable of thinking outside the box and finding novel ways to explain difficult concepts in fun ways. Many of the children in this setting have ASD or traits of ASD so any prior experience in this area would be highly beneficial. Our school is very interested to hear from graduates who are looking to kick start their career in education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with children with cognition and learning delays.
  • Have the ability to stay calm under pressure and diffuse potentially difficult situations.
  • Work with the classroom teacher to create a fun working environment.
  • Feedback to the parents at the end of each day on the progress of the children

About you

  • Passionate about working with children with SEND
  • Previous experience, either personally or professionally, with children with SEND
  • Able to commute to Dunstable
  • Passionate about improving outcomes for children from disadvantaged backgrounds
  • Reliable and flexible
  • Available full-time - 8:30-3:30 minimum
