We are seeking an Groundworks Quantity Surveyor with experience in the groundworks and civils sector. This role requires regular travel between the head office and various sites, supporting a range of groundworks projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the groundworks industry, with the ability to adapt to different project levels.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation and submission of valuations, applications, and invoices.
- Management of subcontractor payments and agreements.
- Financial reporting and cost management for projects.
- Conducting site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Negotiating and managing contracts with clients and subcontractors.
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Supporting the team with take-offs, cost estimations, and budget management.
Requirements:
- Groundworks Experience: Essential to have prior experience with groundworks and civils projects, ideally within a specialist subcontractor.
- Preferred Background: Candidates from a groundworks or civils company are highly desirable. Those with main contractor or unrelated subcontract disciplines will not be considered.
- Level of Experience: Open to varying levels of experience. Candidates at a junior level must have direct groundworks industry exposure.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel extensively to sites across London, Essex, Kent, Cambridge, and other regions.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related field are preferred but not essential if experience compensates.
- Contract Preference: Freelance or Ltd Company engagement preferred, with PAYE as an alternative option.
