Based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire our prestigious FTSE listed client is looking for a Sourcing and Sustainability Manager on a 6-month interim basis. This will be a hybrid role with 3 days in the office per week. Occasional travel to London may be required.

This job would suit someone with knowledge and a passion for sustainability, with proven experience of responsible and ethical sourcing project management. They will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing the responsible sourcing strategy and are the subject matter expert on responsible sourcing issues across all businesses.

With multiple sites across the UK and Europe, the Group Sustainability team has a huge role within the organisation, assuring security of supply for the commodities their core brand offerings rely on, future proofing the business and product offering.

The successful individual will have expert knowledge and a passion for sustainability, including ethical trade and responsible sourcing. They will have strong influencing skills and experience with developing excellent working relationships including engaging and motivating employees across a large organisation. Skilled project management experience with multiple stakeholder involvement is an essential part of the role. Excellent communication (written and verbal) with strong excel skills are a must.

Job responsibilities:

  • Define the targets and commitments for responsible sourcing and ensure they are met: Set priorities and direction for responsible sourcing programme
  • Secure commitment to sustainable supply and integrate this commitment into core business functions
  • Mitigate risk of unsustainable supply of high-risk commodities
  • Design, implement and review the performance of the sustainable sourcing programme such as scope 3, deforestation and other relevant sourcing targets.
  • Internal point of contact and expert for sustainable and responsible supply
  • External point of contact for all issues relating to responsible sourcing issues
  • Design, implement and monitor and review performance of the ethical audit programme across the PI&R supply chain (including deep dives into high-risk areas where relevant), reporting progress annually in the Modern Slavery Act Statement
